Another day, another step closer to the weekend (yay!). Given we are in the transeasonal period of spring, the weather tends to be a little unpredictable.
You can leave the house in an outfit you’ve been dying to wear when the sun comes out only to get to your destination and it’s cloudy. Bye bye cute summer outfit which is now hidden under the last minute ‘just incase’ jacket you grabbed walking out the door.
We’ve decided that it’s time to be proactive with transeasonal dressing. The latest drop of new arrivals online and instore at The Annex Mt Hawthorn are pretty perfect for that in between weather. Plus, you’ll be able to wear them well into Summer 2018.
First of all, if we have to cover our outfit in case of a weather emergency it better be a pretty cool jacket right? Hansen and Gretel has just dropped and the Stay Wild Child Scarlett Reversible Bomber is the perfect transeasonal piece. The light checkered print is on trend for Summer 2018 and we love the fun “stay wild child” embroidery on the back.
Secondly, we need to start getting the pins out which you can generally get away with in the half sun half cloud weather. If you can see the sun peaking through the clouds we love the Viktoria and Woods Advent Short in a navy stripe print. This season’s trend is all about clashing prints and you’ll be able to wear this babies all through summer.
As long as there is no rain we think it’s high time we dust off our summer sandals, or even better we’ve had an amazing drop of Department of Finery. This collection features nude and metallic tones and we love the Lisbon Sandal in blush with this outfit. The wavy leather changes up the traditional leather slide from last summer.
Finally, we don’t want any sun damage so if the clouds disappear and the sun returns, in case of emergencies we recommend the Camilla and Marc Blush Wayside Cap. Keep it in your car as a just in case for outings. Remember sun damage equals ageing ladies!
